Waveform Festival is an eco-friendly, electronic festival based in the UK. They had an existing website which was outdated, used frames to present the content and wasn’t friendly for the search engines to crawl

The site was designed by Pete Borlace Design Solutions and I was brought into the project to turn his designs into a fully functioning website.

The website was built using HTML5 and uses the HTML5 shiv so that the code can be styled using CSS in earlier versions of Internet Explorer.

The site uses my PHP templating system so that the header, navigation and footer can be applied dynamically throughout the site so that it’s easy to add new navigation items in future when required.

One of the major challenges when building the site was creating a bespoke PHP backend which enabled festival go-ers to visit the ticketing section and make a request for tickets online.

The functionality also integrates with the MailChimp email newsletter service for seamless integration when capturing users email addresses for future mailing campaigns.
